Join the Old Alcohol Plant’s Artist in residence, Gary Nisbet in this unique 3 day workshop he calls, “Making Art From the Ground up,” art inspired by the garden and gardening. Work on paintings and collage which featured forms drawn from the domestic realm of garden and table.
The workshop will take place in the Old Alcohol Plant’s indoor/outdoor garden studio just adjacent to the Inn’s sustainable gardens.
Learn to collect and create your own visual compost from personal ephemera or ‘growing medium’ for new work.
We’ll spend time in the Garden talking with the master gardeners, Patrick and Kira about the cycles of the garden and their gardening process. We will find inspiration in the garden which will be at the apex of its growth season, by the variety of birds who visit the garden and by Port Townsend cove which makes a lovely backdrop for the garden.
